J.R. Media Institute is a premier institute of various educational fields like Journalism, Mass Communication, Management and Information Technology. It is situated in Delhi. It was established in the year 2010 by Lala Jagat Narain Romesh Chander Education Society. The Society is associated with a well reputed newspaper, the Daily Punjab Kesari. Well known freedom fighters, Late Lala Jagat Narain and Late Romesh Chander were the founder editors of Hind Samachar (Urdu Daily newspaper), Punjab Kesari (Hindi newspaper) and Jagbani (Punjabi newspaper). The daily circulation of these newspapers lies between 12 to 15 lakhs. All these newspapers are run by the Hind Samachar Ltd.
This institute is named after the names of very strong pillars of journalism, Late Lala Jagat Narain and Late Romesh Chander. 'J' stands for Late Jagat Narain and 'R' depicts Late Romesh Chander. Hence the full name of the Institute is JR Media Institute.
The Institute is working towards the holistic development of those candidates who have a zeal for making their career. The Institute has gone an extra mile to cater to the interests of those candidates with a positive mind frame to make their career in different field of education like Mass Communication, Journalism, Management and Information Technology. Within eight years of its inception, the Institute succeeded in its aim. The trained students of this Institute have been successfully working in many national/regional companies. The Institute is running different courses in the field of Journalism, Mass Communication (Reporting, Editing, Page making, Printing, etc.), Management & Information Technology with practical approach which are the basic needs of the industry. JR Media Institute is the first of its kind in Delhi to dedicate itself to the study.
It is worth relevant to point out that the Institute has very a modern and scientific infrastructure to train its students in different trades. Secondly, from time to time, the Institute has conducted seminars, workshops, debates and discussions in which well renowned journalists like Prabhu Chawla, Abhigyan Prasad, Rajiv Shukla, Vinod Dua, Shila Dixit have participated. Political and social leaders like Sachin Pilot and celebrities like Kiran Bedi, Adnan Sami, Shekhar Kapoor, Poonam Dhoillon, John Abraham, etc also have had interactions with the students of the Institute. These interactions and sharing experiences with protagonists of the industry have been beneficial for the students.
